Oh ya...and if I ever need a correction, I am going to invite everyone I know to come watch, charge admission, and sell popcorn! And then I will give the proceeds to Butch so he can buy diesel and come camping with us. :(

If something goes wrong, they correct it. In fact I will get free corrections for life, even if my eyes change in the future. The technology is unbelievably advanced now. Even if I had moved my eye, the laser would have tracked it an not missed a beat.
In any case, most doctors will do each eye at separate time on request. Most people don't like to have to go through the whole process twice and choose to have it done and over with in one sitting.
As with any procedure/surgery, there are some risks, but I felt the benefits were large enough to take the small chance of the risk. It really is a personal decision.

Happy Bday Adam...Hope you guys have a great time.
I do have a question about the eye work. Did they do both eyes at the same time?
Of course since I wear glasses I have always been curious about it.
They do them at the same time in the same way you put your pants on one leg at at time...one eye first, then the other. The whole thing takes just a few minutes.
I can't say exactly how long since the part of my brain that usually keeps track of time was redeployed on an anti-panic mission. Apparently the rest of my brain saw the laserbeam death ray pointed at my melon and tried to convince the rest of my body to get the hell out of the chair.
Luckily, the anti-panic mission was a success, as the surgery was pain free and so far a complete success. Well worth 10 minutes of discomfort and unusual sensations.
Let me know if you have any other questions, or want to chat about it further...I can tell you exactly what happened in my case.

Every hour, on the hour!
I just finished all my anti-biotic and steroid drops last night and now just have to keep up with the artificial tears.
My eyes get a bit scratchy after an hour so it isn't too hard to keep up with them.
Tonight will be my first night without my eye shields as well...

WooHoo! I am ready! We have 4 rigs headed to WCRV this weekend! After my surgery last week I am really looking forward to a few days of R&R. I plan to do some wine tasting at some of my favorite wineries, do a lot of relaxing outside and by the pool and will be barbecuing up a smoker full of ribs on Saturday. And all that in the company of some really great friends. Thanks to Sherry for putting this all together for me! It has the makings of an epic birthday weekend!

Thanks for all the well wishes folks! My surgery went well and at my follow up appointment on Saturday less than 24 hours later I had 20/20 vision!
Things are still a bit hazy, but that is normal as my eyes heal. Most should be gone by about one week out and absolutely everything will be normal (whatever that is) withing about 6 weeks.
The procedure was quite 'intense', but there was absolutely zero pain and the results are quite spectacular!

Hi Folks,
Hope everyone has good plans for the weekend.
Tomorrow I go in for my LASIK eye surgery. It is a bit scary, but I am very excited to finally get it done. My weekend will be spent very close to home, hopefully recovering for the work week on Monday.

Didn't get the wallpaper stripped yesterday, gonna have to do that today along with a few other household chores, while Ray watches NASCAR.
We went to over to see my Bro yesterday and then Ray, Bruce & I all went to Camping World. Got some cool stuff for the rally and then of course we went to Famous Dave's BBQ in Gilroy..............yum, yum!
We drove up and down 10th street in Gilroy looking for Adam and Sherry's house, but couldn't find it. I am sure we could have found some great BBQ if we could have just found their house :B

I am surprised you didn't see our "Beast" parked on 10th street in front of our house...he is kinda hard to miss.
But in any case, you wouldn't have found us yesterday as we were at at wedding. Our neighbor's daughter got married at the local catholic church and then had a nice reception at one of our local wineries (Fortino on Hecker Pass). We are friends with the winery owner and event coordinator and they really went the extra mile to make it a special day. A good example of dealing with local small business and getting excellent service as a result.
Today we are resting and I am getting ready to grill some kabobs. I have some sirloin steak, chicken breast and shrimp marinating, we have chopped up bell pepper and onion and have mushrooms and cherry tomatoes ready to go.
We have lots of extras if anyone wants to stop by! :B
